If you don't have the patients for the fish to come to you, you can enjoy a Party Boat and you go to the fishing either in the ocean or in the bay. You can walk to the Party Boats here in Beach Haven. There are additional Party Boats in Barnegat Light, near the Lighthouse. It just depends on what type of fish that you want to go fishing for.

The Black Pearl has a cash bar. Their DJ will keep you and your families entertained. This is a fun trip for the whole family, so don't miss the boat!

You can rent a Paddleboard right here in Beach Haven. Not only do you get to see the homes along the coast on the bay, but you also get to build up some muscles and work on your tan all at the same time.

Fishing

"The Shack" is literally 6 houses down from the Island Guest House, and they have a "locals" discount, great staff, and great prices for their well done all round classic casual American, Italian and seafood menu. Great Pizza! A good place to get dinner and has a comfortable dining room. We have had guess go back the next night for dinner. It was definitely my bid for all around favorite of 2019 for our family.

Barnegat Lighthouse

Enjoy a panoramic view of Long Beach Island, and see as even see Atlantic City on a clear sunny day, when you make it to the top of the top Barnegat Lighthouse, also known as "Old Barney". There are 217 steps that you will need to concur in order to make it to the top, and NO there is not an elevator. The original lighthouse was built and illuminated in 1859 and restored in 2008. It was re-illuminated on January 1, 2009 - exactly 150 years to the day that it was originally lit in 1859 with a new modern lens.

The lighthouse is open daily from 10 AM to 4:30 PM (weather permitting) from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Ghost Tours

If you are interested in the paranormal or just want to get into the folklore of LBI this is an interesting walking tour. The tour guide will share her own "stories"as well as historical stories based on tall tales of yesteryear.

On Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings, the Long Beach Island Museum offers Ghost Tours throughout Beach Haven, starting at 7 pm, at the museum.

The Ghost Tours start on the first Tuesday in July through the last Wednesday in August for $15.00 per person.

The LBI Museum is located at 129 Engleside Ave. Beach Haven, NJ 08008. There phone number is 609-492-0700 to make sure that the tour is still on for a rainy day.

Walking the Historic District

The Island Guest House is situated in the center of the Beach Haven Historic District. Barnegat Lighthouse

Enjoy a panoramic view of Long Beach Island, and see as even see Atlantic City on a clear sunny day, when you make it to the top of the top Barnegat Lighthouse, also known as "Old Barney". There are 217 steps that you will need to concur in order to make it to the top, and NO there is not an elevator. The original lighthouse was built and illuminated in 1859 and restored in 2008. It was re-illuminated on January 1, 2009 - exactly 150 years to the day that it was originally lit in 1859 with a new modern lens.

The lighthouse is open daily from 10 AM to 4:30 PM (weather permitting) from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Ghost Tours

If you are interested in the paranormal or just want to get into the folklore of LBI this is an interesting walking tour. The tour guide will share her own "stories"as well as historical stories based on tall tales of yesteryear.

On Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings, the Long Beach Island Museum offers Ghost Tours throughout Beach Haven, starting at 7 pm, at the museum.

The Ghost Tours start on the first Tuesday in July through the last Wednesday in August for $15.00 per person.
